Natural Products Association Kicks Off 90th Anniversary, Marking Nine Decades of Industry Leadership and Advocacy

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Natural Products Association (NPA), the oldest and largest trade association representing the dietary supplement and natural products industry, today formally announced the launch of its 90th anniversary celebration, commemorating nine decades of leadership, advocacy and service to consumers and industry stakeholders.

Founded in 1936, NPA has played a defining role in shaping the modern natural products marketplace, championing consumer access and serving as a trusted voice in Washington, D.C., and state capitals nationwide. From landmark policy battles to today’s emerging regulatory and scientific challenges, the association has remained at the forefront of industry advocacy.

“For 90 years, NPA has stood as the industry’s steady and credible voice,” NPA President and CEO Daniel Fabricant, Ph.D., said. “This anniversary is an opportunity not only to reflect on the progress we’ve made, but to reaffirm our commitment to leading the industry through the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

As part of the milestone, NPA is launching a year-long 90th Anniversary Campaign to strengthen the association’s advocacy, legal and scientific capabilities to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving health and wellness landscape. The campaign will support enhanced engagement with federal and state policymakers, expanded scientific and regulatory expertise, and continued defense of innovation and consumer choice.

Jim Emme, the chairman of NPA’s Board of Directors and CEO of NOW Health Group, emphasized the importance of stewardship as the association looks ahead. “This organization has endured for nine decades because it has always been guided by principle, science, integrity and responsibility,” Mr. Emme said. “Our task now is to ensure that NPA remains strong and effective for the next generation of innovators and consumers.”

Throughout 2026, NPA will commemorate its 90th anniversary with special events, policy initiatives and industry engagement, including its annual Fly-In Day on May 12, educational programming and a capstone anniversary celebration.

“The challenges facing this industry today demand experienced leadership and a unified voice,” said Adel Villalobos, chairman of the 90th Anniversary Campaign and founder of Lief Labs. “This campaign is about investing in the future so that NPA can continue to defend innovation, protect consumers, and lead with authority for decades to come.”
